Karen Davis is a specialist in decoupage, using ‘fine cut’ and ‘traditional cut’ techniques.
Inspiration is drawn from everyday surroundings: fabric patterns, paintings, photos, pottery, and nature.
She is passionate about breathing new life into aged/mundane objects.
Each piece is prepared, and then painted; the hand cut paper decals are added, finally 20+ coats of varnish are applied to give a “painted” or “inlaid” finish to the work. The final product is an original and unique item.
