There’s a buzz around Cornwall today as the Poldark TV series, starts tonight!
Based upon the 12 novels by author Winston Graham, set in the 18th century, include characters such as Ross, Demelza and George Warleggan, Ross’s arch enemy.
We welcomed the film crew in the summer of 2014, who took over the car park and filmed a number of scenes right here in Charlestown.
Sarah Blakey of The Old Workshop and Cscape Art Gallery commented “It was an amazing time having the film crew here and it will be exciting to watch the TV series tonight when it’s first broadcast on the BBC. Charlestown has been home to many films and TV series, it’s a fantastic location full of historic features and I’m sure we’ll be seeing Poldark fans for many months to come”.
