John Fells

I am a woodturner and craftsman using predominantly native timber and sometimes reclaimed exotics to make a wide range of products and artistic forms. Wood is a warm, tactile and versatile material that has had a life of its own which can show in its grain and colour. It can be a wonder to work with.

When asked what sort of things do I make I tend to come to the conclusion of anything but large pieces of furniture. If there is something you would like that isn’t in the Craft Kiln or would like something more personalised feel free to get in touch and we can go from there.

One constant to all my work is a desire to maintain a good standard of finish with an eye for detail, and if the item has a use then the design and the feel of the piece during use is key. The choice of timber can also be crucial and once finished the inherent beauty of wood does the rest.

For more information see my website and you can find me on Twitter or Facebook too.
