Nicky Bowler Ceramics

“What a great idea” is often the reply I receive when telling customers that several crafts people share and work one day a week to keep the Craft Kiln running.

My artwork is inspired by my Cornish upbringing and the love of my surroundings in which I live, the coastline, sea and beaches.

Six years ago I found myself with time on my hands and a summerhouse in the garden to work in so started experimenting with an air drying clay, creating seaside themed wall hangings. Later, still exploring and developing my skills I created a range of earthenware ceramics so bought a second hand kiln in which to fire them myself.

Now I make a mixture of air drying clay framed pictures, boxes and key holders, alongside earthenware ceramic vases, bowls, coasters, lamps and curves.

All pieces of work are hand built so every piece is unique and individual. They are then hand-painted with vibrant, cheerful colours.
